I have some very exciting news! My friend Katie of Salty Pearl Crochet and I are putting on our very own Christmas in July Crochet Along!
We were chatting not too long ago about how we love summery crochet patterns but we were really looking forward to getting started making cold weather things.
We figured we couldn’t be the only ones, right? So the idea for this crochet along was born. Since it is still crazy hot, we decided that hats were the best thing to make. Really if you think about it, hats are the perfect summer project; small and portable.
We asked a few of our favorite designers to each contribute a free crochet hat pattern. This is the perfect opportunity to get a head start on your crochet gifts for this year. No more last minute, all night, on the way to the party crochet sessions.
Katie of Salty Pearl Crochet and I will be your crochet along hosts and we have 7 other wonderfully talented designers joining us.

How Can I Join?
All you need to do is crochet the project with us! Either on your own or in Katie’s or my crochet groups on Facebook.
I highly recommend joining one or both groups because it is so much more fun to crochet with friends. Plus, it’s a great way to ask questions and share your progress.
Katie’s Group: Salty Pearl Crochet Circle
My Group: The Unraveled Mitten Crochet Club
Or you can share your photos on Instagram. You can tag me @theunraveledmitten and use the hashtags #ChristmasHatCAL and #TheUnraveledMitten so we can find each other.
Also, don’t forget to sign up for my weekly newsletter to stay informed about all the happenings of this fun CAL and much more!
Is this free?
Yes! Each designer has generously agreed to offer you a free crochet hat pattern.
Please remember to thank them by leaving them a comment, sharing on social media or just by showing them what you’ve made. See your projects makes us so excited.
I think I’ve covered just about everything I can think of, but if you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments.
