Add this cute apple or pumpkin crocheted applique to embellish your next fall crochet project. This quick crochet pattern takes just a little bit of yarn and can be finished in a few minutes.
Use red or green yarn for an apple or orange for a pumpkin!
Sew or hot glue to a table runner, coffee sleeve, hat, blanket and more. I usually hot glue the applique if I know it isn’t going to get a lot of wear and tear (or washing) and I sew it on to things like hats, blankets or other wearable things.

- Red or green for apple
- Orange for pumpkin
- Brown for stem

- 5 mm crochet hook

Pumpkin or Apple Crochet Applique Written Instructions
Rnd 1: Make MC, ch 2, 12 dc in ring. Join to top of 1st dc with sl st. (12)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in same st as ch 2 and each st around. Join to top of 1st dc with sl st. (24)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, (sc, hdc) in next, dc, 2 dc, [hdc, 2 hdc in next] 3 times, hdc, sl st in next 2, hdc [2 hdc, hdc in next] 3 times, 2 dc, dc, (hdc, sc) in next, sl st in next. (34)
Stem: change to stem color, ch 3, sl st in 2nd and 3rd ch. Sl st into same st you started in. Finish off weave in ends.
Apple Leaf:
Using green, Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next ch, hdc in next, 5 hdc in next. Working on other side of chain, hdc in next, sc in next 2. Join to first sc with sl st. Finish off, sew or hot glue onto top of apple near stem
Pumpkin Leaf
Using green, Make mc, ch 1, sc 2, [picot, sc,] 3 times, sc 2. Join to top of 1st sc with sl st. Finish off and sew or hot glue to pumpkin near stem.
