Here is the original square by Rhondda. I just love all her colors! Mine is pictured below.

Keep reading to see my notes. The link for the pattern is at the bottom of this post.

MY NOTES

After the last 2 more involved squares, I really enjoyed the simplicity of this one-stitch square. Rhondda includes instructions for a solid color or striped version of this square. Obviously, I chose stripes. On the rows where I did not change color, instead of cutting my yarn I slip-stitched in each stitch to the next corner and continued with the pattern. I also started each round with a ch 3 rather than a standing double crochet… this was mainly because I just kept forgetting to do the standing stitch.

Sizing: My gauge was running a bit small after round 3 where she says to measure but I was not worried about it because this square is easy to add or subtract rounds. It ended up measuring 11 inches after round 10. I have not blocked it yet as it is pretty flat. I will block it to 12 inches at a later date.

Here’s What I did: I will outline my color changes and any notes I have for each row below.

Remember though, you are working on YOUR blanket. If you don’t want to change color where I did, then please don’t. My notes and color changes below are not hard and fast rules.

Round 1: Tea Leaves

Round 2: Cafe Latte

Round 3: Buff

Round 4-5: Real Teal

Round 6: Tea Leaves

Round 7: Cafe Latte

Round 8: Buff

Round 9: Real Teal

Round 10: Real Teal

As a reminder, these patterns are not mine. If you want to purchase the PDF, most designers have them available in their shops. Also, is up to the designer to decide if she wants to publish a video or photo tutorial for the specific pattern. It is illegal for me to make a video of someone else’s pattern.
