This is block 15 of our 2023 Stash Busting Crochet Along Sampler. Our featured designer this week is Erin from Juniper and Oaks. Her Cozy Alpine Stitch Square features sections of the alpine stitch broken up by shell stitches.

MY NOTES
I think my favorite part of this square is the shell stitch detail.
Sizing: My square was about 12 inches after round 12 so I skipped round 13 and went straight to 14. This square needed to be blocked so I wanted to leave room for that.
Here’s What I did: I will outline my color changes and any notes I have for each row/round below.
Remember though, you are working on YOUR blanket. If you don’t want to change color where I did, then please don’t. My notes and color changes below are not hard and fast rules.
Rnd 1-3: Buff
Rnd 4: Buff – Erin mentioned this in her pattern but make sure you skip the first stitch after each set of corner stitches. I have reached out to her but her instructions for the corner stitches should read [2dc, ch 1, 2dc].
Rnd 5-6: Buff
Rnd 7: Tea Leaves – again to make the shell stitches work correctly in this round you’ll need to skip a stitch after each corner 5dc. Erin notes this in the pattern.
Rnd 8: Buff
Rnd 9-10: Tea Leaves
Rnd 11: Real Teal
Rnd 12: Cafe Latte
Rnd 13: SKIPPED
Rnd 14: Cafe Latte

As a reminder, these patterns are not mine. If you would like the purchase the PDF, most designers have them available in their shops. Also, is up to the designer to decide if she wants to publish a video or photo tutorial for the specific pattern. It is illegal for me to make a video of someone else’s pattern.
