S'more Dishcloth Free Crochet Pattner | The Unraveled Mitten | Easy | Summer

Welcome friends from the CAL Central Facebook and Ravelry groups! I am so excited to be a part of this fun Summer Activities Crochet-Along.

Want to join in the fun? It’s not too late you can find more information here.

My “theme” is camping. Growing up I camped with my family nearly every weekend of the summer. It is one of my fondest childhood memories. This year my husband and I are sharing this pastime with our kids. They are beyond excited and have been asking to go since Christmas when we got our new family size tent.

Our first trip is planned for this weekend actually.  We’re going to a state forest campground close to our house… with no electricity or flush toilets haha. I think the girls are in for a rude awakening. And holy moly I need to start packing (gahhhh!).

I’m a list maker, so I’ve had a running list of things that needed to go in the “camping box” for a few months now. When it came time to start designing for this CAL, I consulted my list and came up with a S’mores Dishcloth. I whipped up a set of these sweet treats to keep with all my camp kitchen items. That way if we decide last minute to go camping I won’t be without some dishcloths. Because I mean really, if we have to do dishes while we camp we might as well have something pretty to do them with.

Materials

  • 3 skeins of Lilly Sugar & Cream Cotton Yarn (or a similar #4/worsted weight cotton yarn) in the colors:
    • White
    • Jute
    • Warm Brown
    • You will only need a little of each color. You should have plenty of yarn to make a few dishcloths if you have full skeins.
  • 5mm/H-5 Crochet hook
  • Needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Difficulty

  • Easy

Gauge and Size

  • Gauge is not super important here but if you want: 8 stitches x 6 rows of HDC = 2 in
  • Finished dishcloth measures: 7.5 in x 5.5 in

Abbreviations

  • I use US terminology
  • Ch(s): chain(s)
  • Hdc: half double crochet
  • BLO: back loop only
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Dc: Double crochet
  • St(s): stitch(es)

Notes:

  • Turning ch 1 does not count as a stitch

  1. I’m so glad I came across this! This is such a lovely looking dishcloth, and I did a double take when I saw the marshmallow section. It really looks like it’s puffing out! Thank you

  2. I’m always looking for dishcloth patterns and this one is very cute! Plus, the colours would match my kitchen. Hopefully I’ll be able to follow directions–I always mess up dishcloths for some reason ?
