Pattern Notes

I really love the center of this square! It reminds me of a snowflake. There’s rounds of traditional granny stitches surrounding the flower and then the square is finished off with some crossed double crochets.

Sizing: Due to differences in yarn and hook sizes of this pattern I had to leave off some rounds to get the correct size. I’ll outline what I did below. This one also will need some blocking.

Here’s What I Did: I did only 3 rounds of the granny stitch because I wanted to have room for at least one rounds of the crossed double crochets. I also left off the last round of crossed double crochets because I was getting close to size and I wanted to be able to add the single crochet border.

I used my 5mm Furls Streamline Swirl Hook (my new favorite!) and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn.

Here’s how I changed color:

Rnd 1-4: Fisherman

Rnd 5-7: Silver Gray

I omitted rnd 8

Rnd 9-10: Linen (Watch your corner stitches on this round. Its 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc not the 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc it was in previous rounds.)

I omitted rnd 11

Rnd 12: Taupe
