This is block 10 of our 2023 Stash Busting Crochet Along Sampler. The Cordelia Square, designed by Debbie from Madame Stitch, features rows of granny stripes broken up by textured half-double crochet stitches. I love the versatility of this square.

MY NOTES
I felt like I could just keep going and going with these stitches. This stitch pattern could be used as a base for an entire blanket.
Sizing: My square was a little bit small. I should have guessed that, based on the starting chain number and my experience making squares like this in our 2019 CAL, and went up a hook size or adjusted the length but I went with it as written. After the 2 border rounds, I added a round of half double crochet in the back loop. This brought my square to 11.5 in x 11.5 in, which gives me enough room to block it to 12 in.
Here’s What I did: I will outline my color changes and any notes I have for each row below.
Remember though, you are working on YOUR blanket. If you don’t want to change color where I did, then please don’t. My notes and color changes below are not hard and fast rules.

As a reminder, these patterns are not mine. If you would like the purchase the PDF, most designers have them available in their shops. Also, is up to the designer to decide if she wants to publish a video or photo tutorial for the specific pattern. It is illegal for me to make a video of someone else’s pattern.
