Pattern Notes
You are in for a treat today. I love Kirsten’s patterns they are always so pretty and feminine. This square is no exception. Kirsten was so generous with this square pattern that she even included a 2nd more textured option! You see this bonus square at the link to her pattern below.
I made the original version. I did not find this pattern difficult. Kirsten offers some tips throughout and has a quick photo tutorial on her website on how to work the crossed double crochet increase.
Sizing: My square ran a little big so I stopped early after round 12 to leave room to block my ripples out. I did 3 rounds of single crochet at the end to get it to the correct size.
Here’s what I did:
I used my 5mm Furls Streamline Swirl Hook (my new favorite!) and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn.
Rnd 1-2: silver grey
Rnd 3-5: fisherman
Rnd 6-7: linen
Rnd 8: taupe
Rnd 9: silver grey
Rnd 10-12: Fisherman
1st Single crochet rnd: fisherman – I followed instructions for round 13 omitting the dc shells in the corners and sc in each st instead, being sure to place a (sc, ch 1, sc) in each corner.
2nd and 3rd Single crochet rnd: taupe – sc in each st around, placing (sc, ch 1, sc) in each corner
