These crochet Christmas stocking patterns are a great way to add some holiday cheer to your home this year. Handmade stockings make great gifts and are often passed down and used every year. I still have the stocking my grandma made for me when I was a baby!
How long does it take to crochet a stocking?
Not as long as you might think! It depends on how involved the design is but I was able to make mine in 3-4 evenings. If you want one that is super quick to make, chose one made with bulky or super bulky yarn.
That means if you start now you should be able to get a couple done before Christmas.
What yarn should I use to crochet a stocking?
Worsted-weight yarn is by far the most popular to use. My favorite ones to grab are the tried and true workhorse yarns like Red Heart Super Saver, Bernat Super Value, Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice or Caron One Pound.
You could also make them using a 100% wool yarn, like Wool of the Andes from WeCrochet!
