This is patchwork crochet scarf pattern is the perfect project for using up those odds and ends in your stash.

I draw a lot of inspiration from quilting in my designs. This is an ode to the many different scrappy patchwork quilts that show up in my Pinterest and Instagram feeds. I decided to use a textured stitch instead of a single basic stitch for this crochet scarf.

I think that this would make a really interesting blanket pattern too! Maybe I’ll have to add it my ever growing list of ideas.

This scarf compliments the other patterns in the Wildwood Collection. There is a hat, chunky hat, chunky scarf and cowl so far.

You can purchase all 5 of these patterns in a bundle by clicking the button below.

This bundle includes: The chunky cowl, chunky hat, slouchy hat and striped cowl & patchwork scarf (NEW!)

Choosing Yarn Colors

Color placement and choice is really important for this pattern. You’ll want to choose a variety of light, medium and dark tones and then spread them evenly throughout the scarf. If you have to many dark colors next to each other your blocks won’t stand out and you’ll have dark patches throughout. The same for light colors, except you’ll have light patches.

A good way to test the value of your yarn before you add it the scarf if to take a black and white photo with your phone. This will allow you to see the light, medium and dark values of your yarn.
