If you love to read using your Kindle or E-Reader then this star stitch crochet kindle cover pattern will be a fun and practical project for you to make.

Are you planning on purchasing a Kindle as a gift this year? Make one of these to go with it! Pairing crochet with store-bought gifts is so fun.

I have always loved to read and finally purchased a Kindle e-reader. I love it so much. Not only can I use it to read books via my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I can also use the Libby app to check out e-books from my library and then read them on my Kindle. (Want to know my top reads of 2024? See the bottom of this post, after pattern)

Get your own kindle from Amazon here. – They go on sale a few times a year. I purchased the Kids Paperwhite because it comes ad-free with a case and is otherwise the same as the adult version.

I always take my Kindle out and about if there’s a chance I have to wait anywhere, so it often gets tossed in my bag. While it has a case I wanted to protect it a little bit more.

I shopped my yarn stash, found a few partial skeins and designed the Stargazer Kindle Cover crochet pattern.

How to make this pattern in a different size.

If your Kindle is a different size than mine or if you want to make it for a phone, tablet or laptop follow these instructions for crocheting this pattern in a different size. This will change the amount of yarn needed.

Step 1: Measure short side of device.

Step 2: Crochet a chain that length making sure it is an odd number

Step 3: Follow pattern, doing more or less repeats of rows 4 &5. Stop when sleeve measures __ less than height you need.

Step 4: Continue pattern and complete rnds 18-21.

Heather’s Top Reads of the Year

The year isn’t techincally over but close enough. As my current TBR stands now, I don’t think I’ll be reading anything that will knock these books out of the line-up. In no particular order:

  • The Women by Kirsten Hannah: I have yet to meet a Kirsten Hannah book I didn’t love. This one was about an army nurse serving in Vietnam
  • What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty: This is a thought-provoking book about a woman who loses her memory and wakes up thinking its years earlier only to find she’s now a completely different person. I am still thinking about this book months later.
  • Just for the Summer by Abby Jiminez: I laughed, I cried, it was such a good romance.
  • Joe Picket Series by C.J. Box: I’ve been binging this series about a Wyoming game warden on audio all year. Also note, if you read these, don’t watch the Paramount + TV version, it was such a disappointment.
  • Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros: Who knew I would enjoy a book about dragons because I sure didn’t. For me, this lived up to the hype 100%.
