Celebrate the 4th of July with this easy crochet pattern for a patriotic American flag banner. You can easily customize the size of this banner by adding more or fewer flags.

I love using red, white, and blue in my decor all summer long. This flag banner will probably stay up at my house for the whole Month of July.

The base flag for this bunting or banner is the same as the one I used for the Feels Like Fall Bunting Pattern. I just changed up the colors and added stripes.

Star Applique Instructions

Make 3

Rnd 1: Using white yarn, Form a magic circle, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), make 9 dc in ring. Pull ring closed. Join to top of ch 3 with sl st

Rnd 2: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in same st as ch 1. (dc, tr, picot, tr, dc) in next. *sc in next, (dc, tr, picot, tr, dc) in next. Repeat from * around. Join to top of 1st sc with sl st. Finish off and weave in ends

Final Assembly Instructions

Glue or sew your star onto the 3 blue flags. (I glued mine)

To join them together in a line, lay your flags out in this order:  Blue- Striped -Blue – Striped – Blue

Using blue yarn, ch 25. Then sc across the top of the flag furthest to the right, *ch 10, sc across next flag. Repeat from * across all flags. Ch 25 after end of final flag.

To change the spacing of your flags do more or less chains between and at the beginning and end.

You could also make this longer than 5 flags simply by making more!
